Mark Mulholland's Artist Statement- Following the sudden loss of his brother, Mark has turned to his art as a way of revisiting and preserving their shared childhood. His brightly colored acrylic paintings serve as vivid visual narratives, capturing the many adventures they experienced growing up. These figurative, collage-based works blend realism with cartoon-like imagery, creating a playful yet poignant style. Patterns play a central role, shaping both the figures and the spaces they inhabit, adding rhythm and depth to each composition. Drawing from his “mind’s eye,” Mark uses a range of painting techniques to evoke both humor and emotion, offering viewers an intimate glimpse into his memories of brotherhood.
